Loreto, Baja / Turtles



LORETO, BCS-it keeps a constant monitoring of the various beaches of the municipality of Loreto, in order to detect and locate nesting sea turtles on the coast, seeking thus to ensure the birth of the greater number of offspring of turtles and their arrival at the sea.
The above is part of the program of protection and conservation of sea turtles is implemented in the municipality of Loreto.
Staff PROFEPA, Navy Mexico, FONMAR, non-governmental organizations, citizens of this port and the PMNBL staff are involved in this work.
According to dates in which some of the nests were located, permanent camps in places where to go toward the probable date of birth of the turtles are setting.
 hatchlings on the beaches of Loreto redoubling efforts that are expected to have many more.
One of the main actions undertaken is on the part of those involved in this work is to avoid hatchlings are prey for predators causing low numbers of young that reach the sea.
